Discover art history in the heart of Rome at the Hotel Universo
At the Best Western Plus Hotel Universo, hospitality is not just about welcoming guests: it also means taking care of the places where we operate, their history and the cultural value that makes them unique.
It is in this spirit that we have chosen to participate in the Arte Fuori dal Museo (Art Outside the Museum) project, promoted by the Directorate-General of Museums of the Ministry of Culture together with the non-profit organisation LoveItaly and Federalberghi Lazio, which breathes new life into works currently stored in museum warehouses, bringing them back to the community thanks to collaboration between institutions and private entities.
This hotel, opened in 1933 and one of the first in Rome, displays the Portrait of Domitia Lucilla, mother of Emperor Marcus Aurelius: a work from the 2nd century AD, restored with our contribution and now visible to guests and citizens alike. A gesture that goes beyond the experience of a stay and tells the story of Rome, culture, time and shared values.
Book your stay now and don’t miss the opportunity to admire a unique work of art. Let the history of Rome surprise you, and so will the Best Western Plus Hotel Universo!
